Ira Lifland, owner, established FENIX RESEARCH in 1986. His educational background includes studying and training in ceramics, both in manufacture and design. Ira's wife brought home a parrot. Because their home had recently been remodeled and not all our avian friends have good manners, Ira came up with an idea on how to control some of the mess. He designed a few crocks, specifically for parrots, along with the now well-known hooded crock. Success was instantaneous. Another vet was so impressed he showed it to others and before production began, Ira had orders for a gross of every design. FENIX RESEARCH sells internationally and is known for it's high quality, using only restaurant quality clay. Their porcelain absorbs nothing, making it extremely safe and durable. They now design and carry a complete line of porcelain crocks for every kind of animal.
